If you received an error for your payee's company name, it is likely due to the use of invalid characters, formatting issues, or exceeding the maximum character limit. Here are the steps you can take to resolve this issue:
- Check for Special Characters
Ensure that the company name does not contain any unsupported special characters. The Company Name field supports the following characters:- Latin characters (including accents)
- Numeric characters, as long as the name is not only numeric
- Special characters: ( . ), ( - ), ( ' ), ( & ), ( / ), ( : ), ( , )
Note: The special characters noted above are only supported when they are not the first character in the company name and are not used consecutively. For example, “Inc.,” is not supported in the company name field.
- Check Character Limit
Ensure the company name does not exceed the maximum limit of 35 characters. If it does, shorten the name to fit within this limit.
If your payee’s company name does not fall within these guidelines and you’re unable to make the changes, contact Tipalti Support for further assistance. Provide them with details of the error, your payee’s company name, and any steps you’ve taken to try to resolve the error..
