Manage payee risk
You must be assigned the Risk Management user role to manage payee risk, which includes reviewing open risk cases and blocking or suspending payees from receiving payments. For information on how to use the Detect module screens most effectively, refer to Usability.
Review open risk cases
When attribute data match among payees, these attributes trigger a risk case to be opened. Related payees are related to each other by the triggers that caused the case to be created.
When there are several cases with the same related payees, the cases are merged into one case, as shown in the example below.
Case 1: Payee A related to blocked payee B
Case 2: Payee C related to blocked payee B
Merged into one case:
Case 3: Payee A, C related to blocked payee B
To review open risk cases:
- Click the "Detect" tab to view the "Cases overview" screen.
- Find the risk case you want to review and click the row. The "Case ID" screen displays further details about the risk case.
The following information is available at the top of the "Case ID" screen:- Case identification number
- Status of the risk case
- Date the risk case was created
- Type of risk check the payees failed
- Number of payees affected by the risk case
- The attributes that triggered the risk case to be opened
- A "Notes" field has been provided for you to enter any notes
- If there are different relations among the payees (i.e., attribute data that are common to subsets of the payees), a "Show payees related by" field follows the above information. Click
to see the different relations and the number of payees affected per relation. Select one relation to reveal the associated payee data, which display below this field.
The payee data that display depend on the type of risk check, so you may see some variation. The data that match across payees display in orange font.
- Among the payee data is a "Payee version" field. A new risk case version is created every time risk-related payees change their details through the iFrame or Supplier Hub. The date and time payee details have been changed display in this field, as well as an option to view the most "Current version" (if applicable). To navigate risk case versions, for each payee listed, click
and select the desired version. By default, the first version (that caused the risk case to be opened) displays.
- Review and evaluate the data across payees. Repeat step 4, as necessary.
- If applicable, repeat steps 3 to 5 until you have reviewed and evaluated the data for each relation.
- If you want to export the related payee data in CSV file format, click "Actions" and select "Export related payee data" to download the file.
- To complete the review process, at the bottom of the screen, click "Ignore case" or "Block all payees" or "Suspend all payees". A dialog displays the case ID number and a list of the affected payees. The payee ID is hyperlinked, and clicking it opens the payee record in a new window.
- Click "Confirm" for the risk case to be considered resolved and for its status to be updated to "Reviewed".
- In the top right corner of the screen, use the navigation buttons
and
to move from case to case and use "< Back" to jump back to the "Cases overview" screen.
To change the status of a blocked/ suspended payee, on the "Case ID" screen, click the "Payee ID". The payee record opens in a new window. You are now on the "Payees" tab. Go to step 2 of Block/ unblock, suspend/ unsuspend or close payee. While you are on the "Payees" tab, you can also view a specific payee's risk cases by clicking the "Detect info" subtab (see Find payee risk information).
