Funds flow
Tipalti Card supports two payment models:
-
Periodic — You are assigned a spending limit following an underwriting process. Funds are automatically pulled from your bank account in accordance with your setup.
Weekly — Tipalti automatically performs an ACHAutomated Clearing House debit pull from your bank account through ACH every Wednesday.
Monthly — Tipalti automatically performs an ACH debit pull from your bank account on the 6th day of the month.
Concurrent — You pre-fund your Tipalti account and funds are automatically withdrawn to cover each transaction.
When a Tipalti Card is charged by a merchant, Tipalti checks that the card is within the card’s predefined budget and that you have sufficient balance in your spending limit/ Tipalti account (depending on payment model). Whenever the card budget is exceeded, Tipalti declines the transaction and sends a notification to your Finance team as well as the card holder and budget owner that the budget was exceeded.
In the Tipalti Hub, you can always keep track of your credit line status under the "Tipalti Cards" section that displays next to your other balances.
Your Tipalti Hub account/ spending limit balance are visible under the "Payment History" page in the Tipalti Hub. You must be assigned the View Balance user role to view the current balance in the various accounts configured.
If you have multiple entities, you can manage a separate Tipalti Card balance per each entityAn entity can be a subsidiary, division, business unit, brand, etc. of your organization. Entities can have similar or different AP processes and workflows..
