Create and track purchase requests New Procurement Experience
Whenever you need to create a purchase request that requires company approval, you can do this from Home in the Tipalti Hub.
When you create requests, you can split the purchase by expense accountThe general ledger (GL) account that is debited for the payment amount or your custom fields to reflect your company’s budget allocation. Once created, the purchase requests are sent to the approvers, who are selected based on your approval settings. You’re notified by email or in the Tipalti Hub if they’re approved.
Home and the new Procurement experience is being gradually rolled out throughout 2025.
- When
Home displays in the left menu, you know you’re on the new Procurement experience.
- If you’re not using Home, learn how to create, submit and track purchase requests from Purchases.
You can create a purchase request from Home in the Tipalti Hub and save time using Tipalti AI to complete the request form.
To create a purchase request using Tipalti AI:
Log into the Tipalti Hub and create a purchase request from Home.
Click either + Create request or + New > Create a purchase request in the top right, depending on your account setup.
Enter the details of what you want to purchase, why, who from, and how much.
Click the submit icon.
To add more details, follow steps 3 - 7 in Create on your own.
Tipalti AI uses this info to complete the rest of the form, saving you time and effort.
Tipalti creates a form with completed fields based on the information you provided.
Complete a draft
If you save the purchase request as a draft to complete later, you can find it in Home, in To do > To submit.
Click OPEN to complete the draft and submit it for approval.
You can always delete drafts if you don’t need them anymore. Just open them and click Delete.
After you submit a purchase request, you can track its progress from the All my items tab in Home.
View and track items
To view or track the progress of all your purchase requests, click the All my items tab. To find specific items, search or filter them by type using the Type and My items dropdowns.
The status of the purchase request displays on the listing. You can click it to view more details.
If you prefer not to use Tipalti AI, you can create a purchase request by filling out the form yourself. It’s a straightforward process.
If you need to provide any more details after using Tipalti AI, you can follow steps 3-7 below.
To create a purchase request on your own:
In the Tipalti Hub, from Home, click either + Create request or + New > Create a purchase request in the top right, depending on your account setup.
Click Manually add purchase details.

Fill out the required fields
Enter which vendor you want to purchase from.
Enter how much the purchase costs and a description.
Use the add icon on the left to add another item.
Click quantity to enter the amount of goods or services you need.
If it’s a repeat subscription, click recurrence and select how often it reoccurs from the dropdown.
You can select a vendor from the dropdown or add a new vendor as payees.
You can select One-time if you want to specify this is a one-off purchase.
The purchase request form is customized based on your Customize forms settings, made in Back office.
Click Next.
Complete any other sections and click Next. Required fields have an *.

To split the purchase, toggle right Split purchase and click Split by.
Select how you want to split the purchase. You can split your purchase by expense or your custom fields to reflect your company’s budget allocation.
Complete each purchase line to specify how you want to split the purchase, based on your company’s budget distributions.
Use the add or delete icons to add or delete a purchase line.
Click Next if you have more sections to complete.

In Confirm & submit, review the details:
If you need to change anything, use the STEPS menu on the left and click the section you want to change.
If you don’t need to make any more changes, click ✔ Confirm & submit.
Complete a draft

Click OPEN to complete the draft and submit it for approval.
